As I sit in my room alone with my iPad, nothing about my future seems the least bit real. I cannot comprehend the knowledge that in a few short weeks I will be thousands of miles away from everyone and everything I know. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that I have committed to being voluntarily tossed out into this crazy gigantic yet tiny world we live in, and learn how to survive on my own.
Everyone says that it is hard, and everyone says that it's amazing. All I know right now is that it is happening, for the better or the worse. People also say that it flashes by before your eyes, and that by the time you have time to think about what's going on, your thoughts are memories that you would do anything to live again. For these reasons, I have decided to keep a blog while I am on my exchange. This way, you can all share these memories with me. I hope you enjoy my story. :)
