Valentine's Day (Dia de Amooooor)

This past week was very mellow and relaxed. I spent it hanging out with my parents and occasionally with friends. My parents really want me to spend the majority or my time with them, and although I feel like I am missing out on a lot of things, I am getting used to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm still having an amazing time here. On the bright side, whenever I get to see my friends now I enjoy it even more than I did before!
This week I spend my first Valentine's Day in Chile! Valentine's Day has never meant much to me. I've never had a boyfriend or anything so it was always just a day where my parents might give me some chocolate or something hahaha. In Chile, Valentine's Day is only celebrated by teenagers and young couples. However this year, Katie and I decided to do something for Valentine's Day simply because we love our families and our friends! The day before Valentine's Day, Katie and I decorated a bunch of cookies to give to my parents and bring to some exchange friends.
We even made little letters for my parents, Lilian and Manuel. :)

On actual Valentine's Day, Katie and I took a bus to meet up with a few other exchange students and my host cousin, Rafa. We seriously had the best time ever. It was just so fun! None of us really know how to ice skate and we were laughing the entire time hahaha. To everyone else me must have looked so funny; a big group of foreign teens falling all over eachother while laughing a little too hard! It was so fun and we want to go again soon. :D
The most beautiful part of my outstanding Valentine's Day, however, was a surprise I got when I returned to my house. I recieved a photo from my dad in the US of my little sister, Stella. Stella drew me a Valentine's Day card with hearts and even wrote me a few impressively legible words! I was so touched by seeing this card that I just wanted to fly home and hug her. I decided that Stella was my Valentine, even if she is so far away from me. I love that girl so much and it's crazy to see how she has grown and is growing while I have been away.
That's all for now! I hope you all had great Valentine's Days as well!
