And We're Off...

As I write this it is 7:30am and I am curled up in the backseat of my dad's car with Katie waiting for my parents to get on the car so we can began our long car ride to La Serena. I am wearing light summer clothing for when we arrive at the desert, but the early morning cold has forced me to completely burrito myself in a thin fuzzy blanket. I just wanted to take a quick second to post on here before leaving, but it's going to really really short because I need to send it before I lose my houses internet!
This week I met up with friends a couple times but mostly spent time with my family. It was a good week! Summer is drawing to a close over here and you can feel it in the atmosphere. The sun is waking up a little bit later than before and the daily temperatures are dropping with leisure. In the US, whenever school was around the corner, I could swear I smelled Autumn in the air and I always got excited. I love first days of schools more than most people love last days of school. To me there is just always this lingering essence of hope in the air, and even though I never know what I really have to hope for, the essence is there and I enjoy it!
My parents just got in the car and I no longer have wifi to leech off of our house. I'm just going to have to hope that the vacation house thing we are staying in has wifi and post this when we get there hahaha. I'm going to stop writing so that I don't get carsick.
